Its me!!!!

i’m sameer from mumbai… friends call me “sam“, folks back home named me “tinku“

i am: analytical, perfectionist, avid coffee drinker, an atheist, a tech-buff, an fidgety, a terrifying songster, a very bad eater, an occasional liar, a social boozer, terrified of physical injuries, a movie enthusiast, an uncompromising worker, a wanderer, highly conscious of my appearance, always ready to shop, fond of colors, uncommon designs and shapes, a superman fan, fond of junk food and a zillion other things i’m still discovering!

i like: computers, movies, making friends, travel, meeting new people, baby talk at midnight, music, black book, shopping, the web (addicted), advertising, glossy women’s mags, graphic & web design, chocolates (DARK), pop-corn, cotton-candy, pepsi, bright colors, women, rainy days, oranges, fallin in love, volumes of thought, mom & dad, the beach, lush greenery, gizmos, raw mangoes, DVD’s, humorous & nonsense people (they are lot more creative), radical clothing, singing and loads of other stuff not to be mentioned here!

i hate: sleep, studying, salads, planning, running on the tread-mill (hope my sis is not reading dis), mathematics, bloated ego’s, spelling mistakes, snobs, people with closed minds, people who are judgemental, sarcasm, one night stand, people who make me wait (lessons learnt), and a few other things i’m still finding out!

i want to: sing with Roger Waters in a music album, start a fashion brand, start-off a coffee shop, travel the planet, live in a jungle, high performance Ford Mustang Shelby GT, own a beach house, adopt twin girls, meet a new person a day, make amends for my past, start a school, always be with folks at Landmark, lie awake in bed, watch the making of a big budget Hollywood flick and so much more…

i have: eaten a pig ear, lost 5K to my dear friend (zubin) for trip to Goa, prepared to run away from home when I was 11 years, stolen a bicycle, gone without food for 8 hours, thrown a rotten egg in Principal’s room (Sorry Thelma Madam), had 9 large pegs of absolut vodka, a bottle of German Riesling white wine, 2 relationships so far, been rejected a AMEX card twice, 5 pairs of shoes, second foot finger the longest, often dreamt of falling from a skyscraper, …and a billion other things you’d love to find out!

short term goals: in the next 12 months, i want to: visit a foreign country, go to agra (taj mahal), buy a Fiat Palio… wish for a luxury car-BMW Z4 Coupe, get hooked or find a life partner, win a few web awards, set up a home office, send my folks on a holiday, get into active photography, travel to as many new places as possible, learn a new language, and a few more things i’m thinking about 

i’ve worked at: Rediff (eCards division), eClerx (amongst the startup team), Datacomp (worked as creative head), Now at Global eProcure (Marketing dept.)

i believe:
1) everything in life boils down to a single thing – how badly do you want it! (Devashish am borrowing your line “Is it a matter of life and death”)
2) do not let your past dictate what you are but let it help you who you become!
3) if you continue to do what you’ve always done, you’ll continue to get what you’ve always got. (Borrowed from gopal rao at landmark: You will win the game which you always have won & you will always get into the game which you know you will win)
4) live ur dreams or die trying… (venu is gonna kill me after reading this)

i will not: give up on my dreams, regret my past, cheat in any relationship, change myself to match others thoughts/likes, believe in luck or karma or a divine superpower that controls my life…

Professionally talking:

• I could be the one who is passionate and fascinate by different way of visual communication
• I have always been a visual person and the web gives me an opportunity to use my creative and visual ideas in a way that no other profession can.
• My main focus has always been the creative and communicative aspect more than the technical aspect, though I believe, that in order to truly be able to design and communicate through a specific media, you have to know how it works its possibility and about its limitation
• Offlate working in and around marketing… which i resisted till some years back. Its actually fun & very creative.

And some times FRUSTRATION…

Everyone has an opinion on how you should do your job. Make it bigger. Make it blue. They may not like green, so you have to use yellow because, the client’s daughter favorite color is yellow… ooh gr8!!!

You know your business best; I know my job best. You hire me and pay, and again you work for it. Why? Let me work for it. Give me a chance to do what I think is right. You are free to change it, once I’m through, but let me do what I think is the best.
I don’t have a problem making justified changes, but stuff like that makes me unsatisfied.

Design is like falling in love – One cannot force it..

There are two types of design for me. My design, and Clients design. My design makes me happy and satisfied. I can execute any of my ideas and take constructive criticism. If I like other peoples ideas, I may implement them.

Inspiration:

Nature, Meeting with new people and old things.

People who are good and willing to share their talent to help others.

I get my inspiration from movies, those really cool and fabulous 3D cinematic effects

And off course gurrrllllzzzz….

Yes, cutting edge sites all over the web, it’s like my design school…

And last, but not least, when I see ordinary people do extraordinary things. That’s probably my biggest inspiration.
